In 1986 while living away from home, my mom sent me an article about a Realtor in St. Louis who had achieved $2,000,000 in sales volume which put her at the top of the class. My mom said she could see me doing that and my roommate at the time, not knowing about the article,  suggested I should get into real estate sales.   My dad was never keen on the idea, after all it was for "part-time housewives" and people who "couldn't make it in the real world" and I had a college degree.   In an effort to prove him wrong, I made a name for myself in a very short period of time.  Business snowballed.  Before long, I was doing enough business I needed help just keeping the office running while I was on appointments.

What do I like best about consulting with families about their real estate decisions?  When I'm performing my job, I don't feel as if I'm working.  As a result, time flies by.  I felt that way when I was first licensed in 1986 and I feel that way today.  The only difference is that in addition to still being passionate, now I am more expert than ever.  Moreover, it's gratifying to know that the counsel provided to clients is used in making their largest financial decisions.
